A 40-year-old Cottage Grove man pleaded guilty Wednesday to possessing 142 photos and 11 video files of child pornography, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Minneapolis.
Pang Thao pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, and he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.
In his plea agreement, he admitted that the items had been transmitted over the Internet.
The case is the result of an investigation by the Minneapolis Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
