Bridge-replacement road closures on Hudson Township’s Trout Brook Road have been delayed by flooding and high water that have kept county construction crews busy in other areas.

Signs near Brook Trout Road’s Willow River Race bridge have warned that closures along the popular commuter route were expected by late May.

But heavy rains have pushed that timetable back for at least a month and possibly into July, said Hudson Town Chairman Jeff Johnson.

Replacing the bridge is expected to take about 45 days. About 100 feet of roadway will also be repaired, Johnson said.

He added that he expects regular updates from county officials on the new road-closure schedule beginning this week.

The Willow River Race bridge is the second structure about 1,600 commuters pass daily on Trout Brook Road while traveling north from the Hudson city limits, Johnson said.
