A Red Wing man was sentenced to 12 years in prison Friday morning in Goodhue County District Court after pleading guilty to felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Jesus Urzua-Contla, 26, was charged with three felony first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges and two felony second-degree criminal sexual conduct charges after the victim’s mother contacted police.

The mother told police a conversation regarding pornography on her daughter’s tablet computer prompted her daughter to tell her about Urzua-Contla.

The victim, who was known to Urzua-Contla, told police that he touched her on a few different occasions and described two instances when he had sexual intercourse with her, according to a criminal complaint filed in Goodhue County District Court in February.

Court documents show Urzua-Contla is eligible for conditional release after 10 years confinement.

A list of 14 conditions go along with his jail time, which includes a psychological sexual evaluation, no contact with the victim’s family, no contact with persons under 18 years old, no access to or use of Internet without approval and contact with defendant’s children must be approved by a probation agent.

Urzua-Contla received credit for 144 days served and will serve his remaining time at Minnesota Correctional Facility–St. Cloud.
