Washing windows is not usually a chore that most people look forward to. But for Farmington resident Bryan Guenther, he’s been doing it (and getting paid for it) for most of his life.

In March, Guenther moved to Farmington and so did his business, Reflections Window Washing.

“People have some really dirty windows and when they get clean, they get ecstatic,” Guenther said. “It’s fun to see that satisfaction in people.”

Guenther grew up in Rosemount and graduated from Rosemount High School. There he met his future wife in ninth-grade math class.

While getting set up for his graduation party, Guenther struck up a conservation with a window washer who was cleaning Guenther’s home before the party. He enjoyed talking with the washer so much that he became the washer’s first employee and worked for him while attending college.

Unfortunately, due to a shoulder injury, Guenther had to take time off from window washing. That’s when he decided to start his own business in which he could use ladders instead of poles  to prevent further injury to his shoulder.

So, Reflections, a name created by his wife, was born in 2008.

The business began serving Eagan, where Guenther lived at the time and is now run out of Guenther’s new home off of Pilot Knob Road in Farmington.

After living in Rosemount for 20 years, Guenther is now living just four miles from where he grew up.

Along with four other employees, Guenther operates Reflections in a way that makes people a priority, he said.

“The customer service will really knock people’s socks off,” Guenther said. “Good customer service is pretty hard to find these days.”

Besides window washing, Reflections also offers screen cleaning, gutter cleaning, light bulb replacement, fan and chandelier cleaning and Christmas light hanging.

Although he admits that business wasn’t great for the first couple of years, Guenther said his business has improved and has even won an Angie’s List super service award last year. To receive the Angie’s List award, a business must gather many positive reviews from happy customers on Angie’s List.

Reflections is open Mondays through Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
