Becky Norton has filed to run for the City Council Ward 3 seat, both in the regular and special elections.
"I am running to bring new ideas and a fresh perspective to our City Council," Norton said. "I envision a future for Red Wing that preserves our heritage and embraces technology as a way to save money."
As an educator with a master's degree in education and dual-bachelor's degrees in biology and English, Norton claims a working knowledge of how the city can put hightech tools to work.
Norton works as a high school science teacher in the Goodhue County Education District. She currently serves on the Red Cottage Montessori Board and the Red Wing Sustainability Commission.
"I will work for an economy which provides high paying jobs with benefits and well-planned growth, in order to secure the future of Red Wing as a safe, affordable place to raise a family or enjoy your retirement," Norton said.
Ted Siefert, former member of the Goodhue County Board, has also filed to run in Ward 3 for the regular and special elections.
