Grant Truhler, 9, has been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his brain cell. This is a rare type of cancer for which he is currently being treated with daily radiation treatments and weekly chemotherapy.
The Hudson Wrestling Club has organized several efforts to assist the family, which is responsible for 20 percent of all medical expenses.
Fund-raising events for the family are: Saturday, April 22: Truhler Day at the Caribbean Car Wash, 1611 Maxwell Dr. Complete car wash offered for $10; all proceeds donated to the family. Sunday, April 23: Pancake breakfast, 7-11 a.m., at Hudson High School (contact Barb Yoder 715 549-5859), and wrestling tournament beginning at 11 a.m. for any-age participant, from kindergartner to "old-timer." Friday, April 28: Truhler team spaghetti dinner and carnival, 5:30-9 p.m. The event includes food, carnival games, wacky hair, photos, prize wheel, etc. The event is at Houlton Elementary (contact Betsy Ganz, 715 386-8125). Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, at Caribbean Car Wash: $5 from the purchase of every Ultimate Car Wash purchased on these dates will be donated to the Truhler family. No discounts or coupons will apply.
