Two members of the Civil Air Patrol are facing charges in connection with an alleged sexual assault of a minor at the Hot Air Affair launch grounds at E.P. Rock Elementary School Saturday night.
Nicholas R. Robey, 17, St. Paul, was arrested and ordered to appear on a charge of fourth-degree sexual assault on a 16-year-old girl. According to police, Robey and another 16-year-old boy, members of the Civil Air Patrol who were participating in the Hot Air Affair, were involved. The case is under investigation.
Members of the Civil Air Patrol, Minnesota Wing, have been participants in the Hot Air Affair almost from its beginning, assisting with launch field logistics and access.
