Wisconsin prison officials say inmate James Frederick was supposed to be picking up food carts when he tried to escape.
Frederick had apparently stuffed his clothes with newspapers to protect him from the razor wire on top the fences at Columbia Correctional Institution. He was also carrying a bag of raisins.
The protective effort didn't work, Frederick cut his hand on the razor wire and tumbled back to the ground.
He's in solitary confinement now.
It's not the first time the 49 year old had tried to get away, but it had been a long time since his last attempt in 1981. He was recaptured then, too.
