Soldiers with Company B will be returning to New Richmond at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17.

Company B leaders are asking people in the community to line Knowles Avenue starting at 3:30 p.m. to welcome home the local citizen soldiers. There will be no planned parade or other festivities at this time.

The unit is planning a big "welcome home" celebration for Company B on the May 22 weekend, when a parade will be conducted at the remembrance wall and yellow ribbons will be taken down.

The soldiers have been deployed since last February, spending about nine months in Iraq. They arrived on Wisconsin soil on Tuesday (Jan. 12) but have spent the past few days taking part in demobilization at Fort McCoy.
