Woodbury Cleaners collecting donations
During the month of December, Woodbury Cleaners will be collecting donations for the Animal Humane Society of Woodbury.
Items on the donation wish list include canned dog and cat food, dog treats, wet kitten food, cat and dog brushes or combs, "Kong" dog toys, cat toys, cat and dog bedding (blankets and rugs), rabbit food, ferret food, guinea pig food, bird food (cockatiel, parakeet, dove, finch and canary), bath size towels, bleach, facial tissue and paper towels, and "Clorox" disinfectant wipes.
A coupon for a free sweater cleaning will be given to each person dropping off a donation (one coupon per customer.)
Donations will be accepted through Dec. 31 and can be dropped off at any Woodbury Cleaners location: Eagle Valley Marketplace, 2190-B Eagle Creek Lane; City Centre Shoppes, 8470 City Centre Drive; or Shamrock Plaza, 283 S. McKnight Road.
Charles Buck, principal advisor and owner of Buck Financial Advisors, 9733 Wellington Ridge Woodbury, has been elected to serve as chairperson of the financial planning certificate program advisory council at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
Buck has been a member of the advisory council since 2002, and is an adjunct instructor in the certificate program.
The financial planning certificate program provides knowledge required by financial professionals to sit for the certified financial planner national board examination.
The primary purpose of the advisory council is to provide input on curriculum and instructors; as well as serve as a channel of communications between the program and the financial planning industry in the community.
'BODYVIVE' at SE Area YMCA
The Southeast Area YMCA of Woodbury offers the New Group fitness program BODYVIVE, a group exercise program from Les Mills.
It's a low impact, 55-minute class, integrating aerobic exercise for heart fitness, resistance training for strength and stability, and stretching and mobility work.
BODYVIVE is free to YMCA members.
BNW seeking new members
Business Networking of Woodbury (BNW) is looking to add new members.
BNW is a non-compete networking group of business professionals committed to the development of their careers. Its goal is to assist people in gaining customers and building business.
BNW's newest member is Janine Watson with Edina Realty.
Watson's main focus as an agent is to provide service for her clients by being a resource and giving them important information, but in the end letting them decide on the perfect home. She has two children, Marisa, 15, and Mitchell, 13.
BNW meets Wednesdays at McHatties Tea House, 10350 Bailey Road in Woodbury, at 7:30 a.m.
Categories that need to be filled include web developer, real estate agent, printing company, handy man/woman, sign company and personal trainer.
