Tennessee will be the University of Wisconsin's opponent at the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day in Tampa.
The Volunteers accepted their invitation Sunday after losing to LSU by seven in the Southeastern Conference title game on Saturday.
That ended a five-game winning streak for Tennessee, which also lost to Florida by 39 points during the season.
The Volunteers also suffered double-digit losses to Alabama and California and they only have two senior starters on offense, including quarterback Erik Ainge.
Tennessee is 9-4 and is ranked 16th in the Associated Press sportswriters' poll and 18th in the USA Today coaches' poll.
Wisconsin's been off for just over two weeks. The Badgers are 9-3 and were 18th in Sunday's final AP regular season poll and 15th in the coaches' survey.
Wisconsin and Tennessee have only played each other once before when the Badgers won the 1981 Garden State Bowl.
Volunteers' coach Phillip Fulmer was the team's defensive line coach at the time while Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema was only 11 years old.
