A family in Somerset is looking for a volunteer to visit a young man who has developmental disabilities. He is pleasant, talkative, and enjoys talking about sports and golfing, bowling, walking and playing basketball. He also enjoys Monopoly, Uno and Wheel of Fortune. Leaders in training
Teenagers aged 15 to 18 are invited to participate in the Leaders in Training (LIT) program at Lee and Rose Warner Nature Center. LITs attend three days of summer camp training in June. In training, LITs participate in teambuilding activities to get to know one another and the Warner Nature Center naturalists. They learn techniques for working with children. After the June training, LITs will volunteer throughout the summer in various activities for children. Osceola Medical Center is in need of volunteers to read to hospital patients, distribute books and magazines to patients, and ultimately provide companionship.
