Kenneth N. "Kenny" Kannel, age 69, of Plum City, died July 29, 2007, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.
Kenny was born November 3, 1937, the son of Earl and Rosella (Gilles) Kannel. He was born, raised and lived his entire life in the Plum City community. He graduated from Plum City High School in 1955.
Kenny married Constance "Connie" Lusk October 6, 1962, in New Haven, Iowa. After marriage, they lived and farmed on the Kannel home farm in rural Plum City. Kenny also hauled milk and hauled cattle.
Kenny loved his farm and his cows. He was currently farming with his youngest son Eric and his family. Going to cattle auctions, golfing and fishing with his grandchildren were things he loved to do. He was also an avid bowler for 30 years and loved to go to town and play a hand of cards with his friends.
Kenny is survived by: his wife, Connie; three daughters, Robin (Jay) Benson and Sarah (Darrell) Hinrichs, both of Plum City, Nancy (Brian) Yanish of Ellsworth; three sons, Daniel (Nadine) of Plum City, Brian (Nikki) of Spring Valley, Eric (Tabby) of Plum City; 17 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia (Bill) Webb of Eau Galle, Mary Ellen (Dale) Nevalainen of Hibbing, Minn.; five brothers, Marvin (Del Jane) of Elmwood, Donald (Jean) of Arkansaw, David (Phyllis) of Roberts, Edward (Marjorie) of Ames, Iowa, and Steven of River Falls.
He was preceded in death by: one daughter, Barbara, and his parents, Earl and Rosella Kannel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at St. John's Catholic Church in Plum City. Rev. Ambrose Blenker will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
