SPRING VALLEY -- Refuge Farms is hosting a Halloween event at the Menomonie Culver's on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

There will be pumpkins and apples for bobbing, horses to brush and root beer floats. Kids of all ages are invited and encouraged to come dressed in costume.

Refuge Farms is a non-profit horse rescue organization located in Spring Valley. The group rescues abandoned and mistreated horses, and gives them a safe haven to heal and live out their remaining days with dignity, grace, and free of cruelty and abuse. They use these recovering horses to teach people about respect, trust, tolerance and forgiveness.

Through the "Horses Helping..." program, these horses help people to recover from abuse, loss, physical changes or disabilities, and the worries of everyday life.
