A Dakota County sheriff's squad car was hit by a pickup truck on an icy road Tuesday night.

The deputy was dispatched to assist a tow truck driver near the interstection of 160th Street and Goodwin Avenue between Hastings and Coates when the squad car was struck on the rear end of the driver's side, according to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office. The impact of the crash caused the squad car to spin and get hit a second time. The deputy was in the squad when it was hit.

Neither the deputy nor the driver of the pickup truck were injured.
