A Polk County man faces felony charges following a crash last weekend near the St. Croix County line that left another man critically injured.

The Wisconsin State Patrol said the crash, reported at 6:40 a.m. Aug. 31 on Highway 65 north of Star Prairie in Polk County, left 30-year-old Jacob Ostrowski with life-threatening injuries. Troopers said Ostrowski's southbound car was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by Adam F. Weiler, 35, Amery.

Ostrowski was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Polk County deputies arrested Weiler, who was charged Tuesday with four felonies: injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle (repeater), OWI-fourth offense, OWI causing injury and knowingly operating while revoked causing great bodily harm. He is also charged with tampering with an ignition interlock device, a misdemeanor. He was held on $10,000 cash bond.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.

Weiler's preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 11 in Polk County Circuit Court.
