WASHINGTON COUNTY - Former Twin Cities sports radio personality Jeffrey Dubay will not face jail time for an August 2017 assault.

Dubay, 50, of Cottage Grove, was convicted for third-degree assault in Washington County District Court March 22. He was sentenced to an 18-month stay of execution with five years probation, with 120 days jail time suspended pending completion of treatment at the from Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge recovery center in Minneapolis.

Dubay pleaded guilty to the assault in December.

He was arrested last August for assaulting a woman in the 8000 block of Jensen Avenue in Cottage Grove.

The criminal complaint reported that a woman flagged down police and told them another woman needed help because she was being assaulted by Dubay. The other woman came out of the house bloodied and with a tooth missing.

The woman lived in the basement of the house, and she and Dubay had sexual relations in the past. She was reportedly upset when he brought other women to the house, and asked Dubay to have another woman leave the night of the assault.

Police found signs of a struggle in the basement, including blood on the floor, according to the complaint.

Dubay claimed at the time that the victim was the aggressor.
