Minor possess tobacco

At 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, River Falls High School staff informed police that a student had a vaporizer which contains nicotine. The River Falls juvenile was allegedly seen on video with the vaporizer. The student was cited $73.60 for possession/purchase of tobacco.

 

Sticky fingers

• At 7:23 p.m. Monday, May 21, a compound bow was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Jefferson Street. The vehicle was left unlocked in the driveway of a residence. A box of Winchester 12 gauge shotgun shells was also reported stolen.

• On May 21, a truck license plate was reported stolen from the front of a pickup.

• On May 20, a jar containing $30-40 in change was reported stolen from a local garage during a garage sale. The jar was reportedly a "Tang" jar.

• At 12:50 p.m. May 20, police were sent to ShopKo, 1777 Paulson Road, for a report of a shoplifter. ShopKo loss prevention staff had a juvenile in custody who admitted to taking margarita mixes. The juvenile was arrested, taken to the police department, and cited $92.50. The juvenile was then released to the custody of her mother.

• On Friday, May 18, police were sent to Dick's Fresh Market, 1121 S. Main St., for a report of a juvenile shoplifter. Store management found a child placing candy down the front of his pants. The child said he had done this on a dare from friends. The child had allegedly taken four pieces of candy, worth about $3.72. The child was taken home and his mother notified.

• Family Fresh staff (303 S. Main St.) reported two packages of Crest whitening strips, two packages of batteries and a box of Systane eye drops missing from the store. A man was allegedly seen taking the items on closed circuit television. The stolen items are valued at a total of $128.05. The suspect has not been identified.

 

Habitual truancy

• On May 17, police were informed that a River Falls juvenile had been truant five times between Feb. 15 and April. 10. She was cited $124 for habitual truancy.

• On May 17, were informed that a River Falls juvenile had been truant five times between Feb. 7 and April 5. She was cited $124 for habitual truancy.

• On May 15, were informed that a River Falls juvenile had been truant five times between May 1 and May 14. She Was cited $98.80 for habitual truancy.
