The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is continuing to investigate the police involved shooting that took place earlier this month, according to an Oct. 30 statement from the City of Hastings.

"Per BCA, we anticipate the investigation will be completed and turned over to the Dakota County Attorney's Office in the next 30 days," the statement said.

After that, it is unknown how long it will take for the county to make the final determination.

As of Thursday, Oct. 25, Hastings police officer Geoff Latsch was back on full duty following his administrative leave from the department.

"These matters take time to investigate and once again we ask for the community's patience and support as the process continues," the statement said. "The community can expect to be fully informed when the BCA investigation is completed and when the Dakota County Attorney's office makes a final disposition."
