One person is in custody after three people were shot in Maplewood Wednesday evening, Maplewood police said in a news release.

Brendon Garza, 23, of Maplewood was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center. The shooting took place about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of McKnight Road South.

The people injured in shooting include a 21-year-old man from St. Paul, a 12-year-old boy from Maplewood and a 15-year-old boy. All three victims were ultimately transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Two people were initially detained after being located near the hospital, leading to the arrest of Garza.

Police do not believe the incident was random, that any other suspects remain at large or that there is any danger to the public.

An investigation is ongoing.
