SOUTH WASHINGTON COUNTY SCHOOLS -- A woman who started her career 15 years ago as a substitute teacher at Valley Crossing Elementary School will return this fall as its new principal.

Connha Classon will move into the top slot following the resignation of Lela Olson as principal. Classon worked for the last four years as principal at Woodbury Elementary School.

The district will hire a new Woodbury Elementary School within the next two weeks, according to a statement.

Classon became a full-time teacher in 2005. In 2011, she took a position as an Educational Coordinator/Teacher on Special Assignment. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Gustavus Adolphus College, a master’s in teaching from the University of St. Thomas and received her principal licensure from St. Mary’s University. She is licensed as a K-12 principal, as well as in K-6 elementary education and 5-8 communication arts and literature.
