Hudson Community Education has completed a new selection of fall and winter classes posted on the Community Education page on the school district's website.
Upcoming classes and events include:
Bridges of Madison County Covered Bridge Festival: Don't miss the deadline of Sept. 12 to sign up for the trip through Hudson Community Education, with tour host Michael Kenney of Defined Destinations, on Oct. 12-14 for the Bridges of Madison County Covered Bridge Festival in Winterset, Iowa. Guests will stay at the Hampton Inn in West Des Moines, and will travel on a comfortable motorcoach bus.They will attend the festival, and tour the actual covered bridges, the John Wayne Museum, the Iowa Quilt Museum, and the Madison County Complex of 14 historical buildings. Other tours included will be the Living History Museum in Des Moines and the Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University. Tour includes transportation, lodging, one lunch, one dinner and complimentary breakfast at the hotel, and all tour fees. Double occupancy $499/person, single $599/person, triple $475/person and quad $450/person. Registrations will be taken past Sept. 12 if sufficient participation has been met, based on space availability.
Classes for youth starting in early September will include Kempo-Goju Karate, ACT Math Prep, Tiny Dancer, Combo Dance 1, Zentangle Your Name, Karate for Kids, Yoga for Fitness, and Storytelling-It's more than TV!
Classes for adults and families starting in early September include Goat Yoga, Basic Wood Carving, Difficult Dog Training, Modern Square Dance, Women's Archery, Get Your Powers of Attorney, Zumba and Beginner/Intermediate Pickleball. Mark your calendar for upcoming outings on Sept. 9 and 16 with the Hudson Food Walk.
Open Swim will start on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middle School Pool. Other dates include Sept. 29, Oct. 6, and Nov. 17. The cost is $3 per person, cash, checks or punch cards are accepted. Punch cards can be purchased at the pool or at the Community Education office at 644 Brakke Drive in Hudson, during the business day. Please check the website often for updates or changes to these dates
Our online system will accept credit cards, debit cards, and electronic checks. Checks and cash will still be accepted in the mail or in person at the Community Education Office, 644 Brakke Drive in Hudson.
