The Rosemount High School Winter Color Guard capped off its eighth season on April 3 with a performance at the 2019 WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The championships featured 352 winter guard teams from around the U.S. and world, with 138 teams competing in Rosemount's Scholastic A class. Winter guard performances are held indoors and include choreographed dance, flag, rifle and sabre features set to pre-recorded music.

This was Rosemount's second appearance at WGI. Rosemount's preliminary performance, titled "Amaze," scored in the top half of its class but missed the semifinal round.

Undefeated all season, the 15-member RHS team was crowned the 2019 Scholastic A Champions at the North Star Circuit's 2019 Championships on March 30. North Star Circuit is the governing body for winter guard in the Midwest. Rosemount also took seventh place at a WGI regional competition earlier in the season.

Rosemount's newly formed "junior" team also scored well this season, earning second place at the North Star Circuit Championships for its Regional A class. The team included 10 students from RHS, Rosemount Middle School and Scott Highlands Middle School.
