Hudson Noon Rotary Club is proud to honor Hudson High School students Keyser Helterbrand and August Krueger as April Students of the Month for their outstanding contribution to academics, extracurricular activities and community service.

Keyser Helterbrand

Family: Parents Scott and Marla Helterbrand; siblings Jordan, 21, and Camryn, 15.

Activities and achievements: Academic pin recipient, honor roll, three-year athletic letter winner in football and basketball, three mission trips with Shepherd of the Valley Church, coaching Boosters football, mentoring Hudson youth and special education students.

Future plans: Attend UW-La Crosse in the fall to play football and pursue a career in criminology.

August Krueger

Family: Parents Jason and Laura Krueger; sister Callie, 14.

Activities and achievements: I maintain high grades with a rigorous course load. My favorite class is AP Biology. I am the president of HOSA, the healthcare club and attended the international competition last year. I run horn choir, am a Peer Helper, a member of National Honor Society, tutor regularly and study surgical techniques with a transplant surgeon at the University of Minnesota.

Future plans: I am going to the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities to major in biochemistry on the pre-med track. I then plan to go to medical school on my path to becoming a surgeon.

Biggest influence: My parents and my horn teacher.
