The Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District residents have spoken, rejecting a $49.95 million bond referendum Tuesday, May 14, to help repair and improve the district's facilities by a vote of 1,159-983.

Superintendent Michael Harvey sent a message to the Republican-Eagle late Tuesday night, saying the vote has been decided.

The district hoped to use money to improve buildings in the district and for long-term facility maintenance planning.

A full story will be in the Republican-Eagle's weekend edition.
