RIVER FALLS -- Electricity was shut down in the south end of River Falls Monday, Sept. 9, after City Hall received a call at 2:15 p.m. from River Falls police regarding a small utility pole fire.

The city said power was planned to be out for at least an hour for the area where the breaker was shut off to extinguish the fire near Dick's Fresh Market and Johnson Street, including Main Street, Foster Street, Charlotte Street and Broadway Street.

The cause for the fire was not known as of Monday afternoon.
