Hastings City Council voted to accept four candidates as finalists for the vacant city administrator position.
After the July 1 vote, the names of the four candidates became public and were posted on the city of Hastings website.
Of the four, two currently hold city administrator positions: Aaron Reeves, city administrator of the city of Cloquet, and Sack Thongvanh, city administrator of Falcon Heights. The other candidates are Tom Sorel, vice-president of engineering and professional services firm WSP USA, and Dan Wietecha, township superintendent of Bath, Michigan.
The four finalists will be interviewed by City Council on Saturday, July 27. On July 26, finalists will get a tour of the city while meeting with department heads. They will also be present at a public open house at City Hall.
