The Red Wing School Board approved the elimination of the half-day of school on Friday, May 31.
The new last day of the 2023-24 school year will now be Thursday, May 30.
The district originally added the half-day of school on May 31 in case additional snow days were needed this school year after the district had a difficult winter in 2022-23, but the district didn’t need the additional day this school year and can eliminate the school day on May 31, according to Emily Seefeldt, the teaching and learning coordinator and district assessment coordinator.
