This week, the Riverfront Renaissance construction project completed most of the surfacing for both the west and east sides of the alley.

Part of the alley has been left open so that workers will have access to tie into existing underground facilities.

Although mostly paved, the alley remains closed to make room for the work that is left for utility companies.

The city and contractors were also able to meet with electricians who will be working to reconnect services to the area's buildings.

The new Xcel Energy underground system will still not be available for weeks, but preparatory work will be done on buildings before work on individual electrical services pick up in mid-August.

Rivertown Days cleanup

With Rivertown Days around the bend, Dumpsters around the construction site that were previously in areas of parking, as well as other places, have been moved, but will still be accessible over the weekend for trash haulers.
