Area schools area closed through Wednesday. Red Wing, which on Monday had decided to wait and see by closing only on Tuesday, joined the rest, issuing a critical closure notice around 11:20 a.m. Tuesday for Wednesday.

In Prescott, all after-school activities and events Tuesday Jan. 29 are canceled, and school will be closed Wednesday.

Schools across the region were closed Monday Jan. 28 for a winter storm. The National Weather Service issued a wind chill warning across the region, with temperatures expected to drop to as low as 35 degrees below zero in the coming days.
