Clara Schultz was awarded the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Heart of the School Award at the Feb. 7 school mass.

The annual award honors members of the SEAS community who give their heart and soul to the success of the students. Schultz has been part of the SEAS family since 1991. Ten people were nominated for the award this year, but according to a SEAS press release Schultz was the clear choice.

One nominating letter said Schultz is dedicated and committed to every student who walks into her classroom. She is admired and respected. She contributes to technology at the school and attends school events.

Another person who nominated Schultz for the award said she "teaches as Jesus taught." She is kind, gentle and loving with students.

"Her gracious smile and calm demeanor continually brings a sense of peace to our building. Her sense of humor is warm hearted and benevolent. Clara's presence makes the building feel right. To me, that is the heart of the school," one of the nomination letters read.
