After pulling over a vehicle making an illegal turn, Red Wing police seized 527 Alprazolam pills from a black cadillac on Feb. 19.

Jordan Germaine McCray was pulled over after making a very vide turn, and crossing over the fog line, from Sturgeon Lake Rd onto County Road 18.

According to a criminal complaint:

McCray said he was not supposed to be driving, claiming the vehicle was not his. The officer asked McCray if he could search the car, in which he said the officer couldn't, while speaking with owner of the vehicle on the phone.

The officer knew McCray had a history of possessing firearms. McCray stated he didn't have any on him, received a pat down from the officer, in which the officer found what he believed was "a baggy of marijuana."

McCray took a Backwoods cigar wrapper out of his pocket and the officer smelled it, smelling strongly of marijuana.

The officer then searched the vehicle, allegedly finding baggies with white pills identified as Alprazolam, more commonly known as Xanax, a Schedule IV controlled substance. Between the two baggies the officer seized 527 pills.

McCray was charged with felony fifth-degree drug possession and sales. McCray was also charged with possession over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle, driving after revocation and failure to drive in a single lane.
