The Hudson Raiders Shooting Team logged a very successful weekend at the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) regional tournament April 26-28, at the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club.

Athletes from Wisconsin and Minnesota competed in trap and sporting clays with 300 participants in trap and 115 in sporting clays. Hudson secured High Overall honors, coming in first with 932 total birds combined in trap and sporting clays, beating the Central Falcons by seven birds and the Wayzata Youth Clay Target Club by 15 birds.

Top five Raider athletes in trap were Cody Cicha (95), Brandon Armstrong (93), Nathan Madison (93), Jake McCorkel (92) and Shane Kraft (92). Top five athletes in sporting clays were Reed Meyer (97), Tyler Melloy (94), Jake McCorkel (93), Cody Cicha (92) and Brandon Armstrong (91).

The Raiders came in second in the trap Senior Division with 465 total birds, losing by 10 birds to the Wayzata Youth Clay Target Club. The top squad consisted of Cicha, Armstrong, Madison, McCorkel and Kraft. The Intermediate Division took first place, hitting a total of 426 birds to top the Black River Falls Shooting Tigers team by an impressive 53 birds. Lauren Kern (90), Brady Kern (86), Holden Stanek (84), Jackson Melloy (83) and Peyton Johnson (83) rounded out the top squad. The Rookie Division also took first place with the top five shooters led by Chase Johnson (70), Noah Svoboda (68), Colten Dart (51), Sam Rogers (48) and Luke Jannusch (41).

In sporting clays, the Senior Division came in first edging the Central Falcons by one bird. The squad was led by Meyer, Tyler Melloy and McCorkel. The Intermediate Division also placed first led by Jackson Melloy (89), Brady Kern (79) and Peyton Johnson (77) for a total of 245 birds, four birds ahead of the River Falls Trap Shooting Team.

Individually, three Raiders were in the top ten out of the 300 trap shooters. These included Cicha at fifth overall, Armstrong at eighth overall and Madison at 10th overall. The Men's Senior Division top 10 included Cicha (fifth), Armstrong (seventh) and Madison (10th). In the Men's Intermediate Division, 7 of the top 10 were Raiders with Brady Kern first, Holden Stanek third, Jackson Melloy fourth, Peyton Johnson fifth, Jacob Stolz sixth, Anthony Sexe ninthth and Zander Hoff 10th.

In the Ladies Senior Division, Caitlin Cravens was third and Meghan Ford was eighth. In the Ladies Intermediate Division, seven of the top 10 ladies were from Hudson-Lauren Kern at first, Ella Blaha at third, Alyssa Grezek at fourth, Sadie Richter fifth, Alexis Randolph seventh, Hollee Harrigan eighth, and Shae Dart ninth.

In sporting clays, individual honors went to Meyer at second, Tyler Melly at fifth, McCorkel sixth and Cicha ninth out of 115 shooters. In the Men's Senior Division, Meyer remained second, Melloy fifth, McCorkel sixth, and Cicha moved up to eighth. In Men's Intermediate Division, Jackson Melloy was first, Brady Kern fourth, Peyton Johnson seventh and Lonnie Feia eighth.

In Ladies Senior Division, Caitlin Cravens was fifth and Claire Diethert was ninth. In Ladies Intermediate Division, Lauren Kern was second and Alexis Randolph was third.
