SOUTH WASHINGTON COUNTY SCHOOLS - Seven students in District 833 scored a perfect 36 on the ACT college admissions test, school administration said.

East Ridge High School seniors

  • William Cho
  • Marisa Duran
  • Eastan Giebler
  • David Henry
  • Minerva Roscoe

as well as Woodbury High School seniors

  • Paul Nielsen
  • Sophie Wu

all earned the top composite score.

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and a student's composite score is the average of the four test scores. The ACT scores what a person has learned, rather than measuring their natural aptitude.

One-tenth of 1% of test-takers achieve a perfect score, according to the ACT website.
