Kristin Marie Walm, 49, of Red Wing, died Sunday, November 3, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 6, 1970, in Farmington, Minnesota to Karl and Adelle (Olson) Iten. She graduated in 1988 from Farmington High School and continued on to college where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. For three years she worked as a nurse in Farmington and for the past 24 years has worked at the hospital in Red Wing, 17 of those years as a nurse in Obstetrics and Birthing and the past seven years as a nurse in Surgical. She took great pride in the comfort and care that she was able to provide to so many patients within the community.
On September 9, 1995, she was united in marriage to Brad Walm and they have resided in Red Wing since that time. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Her family recalls all the love, kindness and support that she always provided them. Her biggest passion in life was attending all of the boys’ games and activities, and spending time with the family dog, Goldie.
Kristin is survived by her loving husband Brad of 24 years; two sons, Justin and Marcus both of Red Wing; her parents, Adelle and Karl Iten of Hackensack, Minnesota; two sisters, Julie Boyden of Minneapolis and Jennifer (Terry) Delp of Olathe, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and her mother and father-in-law, Diane and Ron Walm of Red Wing, brother-in-law Brian Walm and sister-in-law Holly Walm Wallerich. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ted and Ethel Olson, Edmund and Fay Iten and Ann Walm and her dog Goldie.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Dana Jackson officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the Red Wing Elks Lodge. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service.
