Donald “Don” Woodward, age 91 of Hastings, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 20, 2020.
Donald, the son of James and Hazel (Nelson) Woodward, was born on August 23, 1929, in Duluth. As a child, Don’s family moved around and he attended grade school in Barnum, and later graduated from Forest Lake High School. They later moved to California for Don’s employment with 3M, and eventually came back to Minnesota in 1961 where they settled in Hastings. Don continued to work for 3M Chemolite and retired on August 31, 1989. Even after his retirement, Don enjoyed keeping busy by working at the golf course, Afton Alps, and as a driver for Allina. Outside of working, Don enjoyed golfing, hunting, and loved to fish, especially with the guys in Canada. Don was a longtime member of the American Legion, as well as Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Hastings.
