Erik Anthony Wells, 40, a member of the Prairie Island Indian Community, died Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was born on April 16, 1980, in Minneapolis to Donald Oakgrove and Karen Wells. He graduated from Red Wing High School in 1998. He resided in St. Paul and Prairie Island over the years with his daughter, Adina. He was a very funny guy with a huge heart. He enjoyed driving his Cadillac and making fry bread. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Adina Whitecloud of Cannon, Wisconsin; one grandson, Azias; step-daughter, Taya Schlichting and her son, Bravery; his mother, Karen Wells of Prairie Island; four sisters, Erika Wells of Shakopee, Rosalind (Eric) Walker of Inver grove Heights, Madeline Wells of St. Paul and Katherine Wells of St. Paul along with many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin after 3 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2020 until 12 noon Sunday, November 22, 2020, at 1802 Messiah Road, Prairie Island. Please follow CDC guidelines by wearing masks and social distancing. Funeral arrangements are by the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel.
