Helen Doose

Helen Lillian Doose, 99, of Red Wing, died Friday, November 27, 2020, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Red Wing. She was born November 2, 1921, in Red Wing, to C. August and Anna (Hinck) Quast. She attended Grace Lutheran School, where she was baptized and confirmed. On November 2, 1939, she was united in marriage to Walter Doose. She worked at Red Wing Laundry, Red Wing Industries, Bayside Tavern for 20 years and Treasure Island for 10 years, retiring at age 75. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Together her and Walter enjoyed spending time at Balsam Lake with Harold and Eunice Quast and Helen loved being around all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going to social outings with family and friends. She enjoyed her trips to Branson and putting together many puzzles.

She will be missed dearly by her many family members including her two daughters, Marjean (Fred) Koehn of Red Wing and Donna (Les) Feuerhelm of Mission, Texas; daughter-in-law, Carol (Terry Finstad) Doose of Cumberland, WI and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Carl, Harold and Bernard Quast; husband, Walter in 2003; a son, David; daughter & son-in-law, Ruth (Ray) Gadient; two grandsons, Mark Gadient and Troy Doose; great-grandson, Blake Gadient and three great-great-grandsons, Zachary, Taylor and Rogan Johnson.

A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. A walk through visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
