Gerald L. Stewart

Gerald Lee Stewart, 72, of Red Wing, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Regina Transitional Care Center in Hastings. He was born November 4, 1948 in Red Wing to Lyle and Sarah (Scott) Stewart. He attended school in Red Wing and following graduation he married Sandy Miller. Together they had two children, James and Lisa. They later divorced. He married Kelly Staege and they had two daughters, Tiffany and Kara. They later divorced. In June of 2002 he married Karen Niedfeldt and they had one daughter, Brianna. Gerald was a laborer for many businesses over the years, but he most enjoyed working the outage for Xcel and as security at Treasure Island. He was a member of Barring Burners and New River Assembly of God. He was deeply spiritual and was most at home outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also loved classic cars and classic country music.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; four children, Lisa Ann (Joseph) Miller of Red Wing, Tiffany Marie Wilschek of Rochester, Kara Olive Sarah (Justin) Stewart of Red Wing, and Brianna Kathlena Stewart of Red Wing; five grandchildren, Faith, Sarah, Jaedyn, Amara, and Patrick; siblings, Lyle Jr. (Noley) of Frontenac, Shirley “Shirl” (Dave) Stewart Sommerfield of Frontenac; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, James Patrick; four brothers, George, Alfred, Charles and Harry; three sisters, Helen, Ellen and Elaine; and his parents.

A walk-through visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 23 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Masks and social distancing are required.
