To the Editor:

This past Saturday my daughter and I attended the Park Art Fair in New Richmond. This is an annual event for us.

On our way home, we decided to stop for a snack at McDonald's in New Richmond. We had to wait a few minutes for our "snack wraps" so we pulled over in the waiting line.

A gentleman pulled up beside us in an older white pickup. He put his window down and asked if "we knew a Marine." I had a "Support the Marines" sticker on the back of my car.

I replied that I did know a Marine, and before I could explain that it was my nephew's son that is currently serving in Japan, he handed us a $20 bill and said "Thank you" and "dinner's on me today."

It took us totally by surprise and we couldn't even think fast enough to get a license plate or more of a description of the truck.

This is a "warm fuzzy" story and totally shows that there are great folks out there that like to "pay it forward." Thank you to this total stranger!
