This week marks my last edition of Kuemmel's Corner for the school year. I have really enjoyed this year on the job as Park's Activities Director. I had the opportunity to meet and work with many great students-athletes, coaches and parents.

The highlights of the school year for me were the programs that made deep runs in section or even state tournaments. Other memories include the great work that our Super Fans did this year, all of the individual athletes that participated in state tournaments, and the athletic department's focus on transformational coaching using Joe Ehrmann's InSideOut Coaching as a model.

Many people have asked me what kind of work I need to do in the summer when there are no games or events to attend. There are many things I must do to wrap up this school year and prepare for next year.

The biggest task is ordering all of the supplies, equipment, and uniforms that will be needed for next year. I also have to make sure all schedules are set for next year and reserve all of the facilities we will need.

I am always looking at what we can do to improve the experience for all of our student-athletes. I have had a chance to check in on coaches and athletes at their summer camps and clinics. I am also busy getting ready for next fall's Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Finally, my secretary and I have been busy preparing for fall registration, which will be here before you know it. Registration information can be found on Park's website - just click on Activities.

Starting July 8, online registration will be open at Students need a sports qualifying physical once every three years for athletics. You will need your student ID (found in the Parent/Student Portal) in order to register.

Please call our office after August 7 with any questions you may have. My final thank you of the year goes out to Brian, our Bulletin sports reporter, for all that he has done to promote our sports for the past year.

I appreciate the opportunity The Bulletin has given me to write this column. I have really enjoyed writing it each week and I appreciate all of the positive feedback I have received. If anyone has ideas for topics for next year's column, feel free to email me. I hope everyone has a great summer and I will see you in the fall.
