It is hard to believe that summer is over. All of our fall teams have started practice and most have had their first contest.
I am looking forward to the start of another school year and the fall season beginning. The athletic department has been hard at work preparing for the new school year.
Our coaches and student-athletes have also been working very hard all summer to prepare for the upcoming season. There have been camps, clinics, captains’ practices, coaches meetings, summer leagues and our summer strength and conditioning program.
Our summer weight program was a huge success and I look forward to continuing that in the future. I am amazed by the amount of time and energy put in during the summer months by all of our coaches and athletes.
We are very lucky to have almost all of our fall head coaches back again for this season. Doug Staley takes over as our new strength and conditioning coach.
We have a few new assistant coaches joining our football, boys' soccer, and girls' swimming staffs this year. We are fortunate to have a lot of consistency on our coaching staffs, which helps to build strong programs.
It is also special when our former student-athletes are able to return as coaches and give back to the programs they were a part of when they attended Park. Throughout the year, I will again use this column to update the community on what is going on in the athletic department at Park.
I know we will have a very exciting and successful fall season. I encourage everyone in the community to come out to cheer on our Wolfpack teams. Passes are for sale online that can be used to gain admittance into all district (Park, Woodbury, and East Ridge) home events except for hockey and tournament games.
These are a great deal – adult passes are $60 and student passes are $40 – and are good for the entire school year. The passes are now mobile and can be purchased and used on your phone. I hope see to see many fans at all of our games. Good luck to all of our fall teams and go Wolfpack!
