To the editor:

Calling all antique boat and motor enthusiasts along with the craftsmen of boats, canoes and kayaks. You know who you are. So you have four weeks to blow off the dust and wash up your treasured possessions.

We are having the annual Antique Boat and Motor Show at Bay Point Park in the boat ramp area 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. I know that there are boats and motors sitting in the back of people's garages just waiting to be dusted and shown off.

This is not a judged event, so any condition is welcomed. We would love to see boats on land and in the water. The Nellie Bly will be back again this year and if you are lucky you may be able to get a tour.

Let's make the fourth Antique Boat and Motor Show the biggest ever. We live on this beautiful river town and the history goes back to Red Wing Motor Co. and Red Wing Boat Manufacturing Co.

This is just one event over River City Days weekend August 2-4. Stop down to Bay Point Park and enjoy the weekend.
