This letter is paid content. As residents of Goodhue County, we find it is our civic duty to lend support to all law enforcement officials in Minnesota, especially to those serving us in Goodhue County.
In this very tense and heightened climate, we are forced to live in we feel law enforcement and the rule of law is extremely crucial to our health and well being of our communities now more than ever. We all want to live in a free society where respect and the rule of law is the top priority. The alternative is anarchy and chaos.
We don’t want our law enforcement agencies defunded, reduced, or replaced; if anything, they should receive more funding for manning, training, and equipment to keep themselves safe in these war zone battles.
There is always room for improvement in all entities, including law enforcement. However, the ludicrous calls by Democrats to “defund the police and remove them from our schools” make the November election a choice between anarchy and stability. Think about it: someone breaks into your home and threatens your family in the middle of the night, who are you going to call? Antifa? Black Lives Matters? Local protesters?
Now is the time to stand with law enforcement and show them your support.
Help end the anti-police sentiment in Minnesota by voting RED in November. Ernie Stone; Chair
