We read the Ward 2 Red Wing City Council candidate questions and answers in the Sept. 26 Republican Eagle. The top priorities of the Ward two Candidates give voters a clear choice. John Becker’s top two priorities: more transparency and a tool to track spending. Andy Klitzke’s: lower taxes and less spending.
Transparency is great, but all information is online already. An app that tracks spending would also be nice, but right now, with the pandemic and the economic slowdown, we prefer a greater focus on cutting taxes and shrinking the city budget. A smaller tax bill could have a real impact on people’s lives.
The Ward 2 choice: more transparency or more money in our pockets.
Our choice is Andy Klitzke. We have known him since childhood. Andy is smart, trustworthy, compassionate, and frugal. He is “one of us.” Andy will combine common sense with a sincere desire to help.
Klitzke “gets it.” He really understands what people are going through. Andy Klitzke said, “Average working families are facing fear for their health and uncertainty regarding their finances. The City has the power to remove some of the burden.”
We encourage residents to elect Andy Klitzke. He is a personable guy with bright ideas and the determination to find solutions. If you are voting for a future with less taxes, less spending, and more results, Andy Klitzke is the one.
