This letter is paid content. To the Voters of Red Wing’s Ward 2:
First, in the interests of transparency, I begin by saying that I have no family relationship with either of the candidates for the Ward 2 City Council seat. Nor am I related to any current council member. SHAME on the other political letter writers who are NOT able to say the same!
Instead, they fill their mean-spirited letters with cheap shots criticizing John Becker: his character, his temperament, even his wardrobe! (He does have a business to run, and the candidate forum, although important, was an untimely interruption in his work schedule, hence his workday attire.)
John Becker has been doing a good job for us. He asks the questions that need to be asked AND answered.
Now, when buildings on three corners of our Bush and Third intersection are (or soon will be) vacant, our free-spending, tax-raising council needs John’s input more than ever before. His common sense and extensive business experience will be a definite asset as they deal with this problem, and also the ill-conceived pedestrian bridge on Old West Main
We need John Becker on City Council. He’ll get my vote. I hope he gets yours, too!
Red Wing, Minn.
