OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - Osceola's Casey Danielson helped the U.S. take a lead over Europe in Junior Ryder Cup action from Monday.

Danielson and her partner Karen Chung defeated the EU squad of Harang Lee and Covadonga Sanjuan 2-1 in match-play. That offset an afternoon loss in a mixed-four match 5-3 to the EU team of Renato Paratore and Lee. Danielson's partner in that match was Scottie Scheffler.

The U.S team is ahead of the European team 6 1/2 to 4 1/2. Today features 12 singles matches to decide the competition. This is the 8th Junior Ryder Cup competition and EU has won the previous seven.
