The Hastings girls track and field team finished eighth after two days at the Suburban East Conference championship meet.

At the meet, Savannah Fultz, Johannah Kneen and Brittney Huneke received honorable mention for their performance in the 4x400 relay.

Mounds View came out at the top of the rankings with 197.5 points. Hastings scored 45 points. Seventh-place East Ridge scored just ahead of Hastings with 69 points.

A couple of Raider athletes put up strong finishes and added to the team's score. Alicia Alverson dominated in the long jump. She jumped 17-11, nine inches farther than the second-place finisher and also a new Hastings school record. Alverson also put up a strong performance in the 400.

Kelly Pechous continued to prove her strength in distance events with a second-place finish in the 3200.

Pechous and Alverson were named All Conference for their performaces at the meet.
