CANNON FALLS -- The Bears trailed 5-0 after four innings and never recovered in the league playoffs. With the loss, Cannon Falls dropped to the Classic Cannon Valley League's No. 2 seed in the 3C Region tournament and didn't receive a bye.

Cannon Falls (24-17 overall) opens the region tournament at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Union Hill.

Cory Hedeen took the loss Saturday against the Cardinals, allowing three runs (zero earned) in 3 1/3 innings. He gave up four hits, walked two and struck out three.

"He struggled getting ahead in the count," Bears player/manager Keith Meyers said. "There were a lot of base runners in the first couple innings."
