The New Richmond boys and Osceola girls repeated as team champions at the 2015 Middle Border Conference track meet that was held at Amery HIgh School on Tuesday.
New Richmond's boys faced an immense challenge from Osceola for the team title. New Richmond needed to sweep the top three spots in the 3,200 meter run and to win the 1,600 meter relay to overcome the Chieftains. The Tigers finished with 168 points in the meet, with Osceola close behind at 163.
The Osceola girls had no trouble repeating as conference champions. The Chieftain girls rolled up 196 points, with New Richmond taking second place with 100 points.
New Richmond's boys were carried by their amazing success in the distance events. The trio of Jack Utzman, Brennan Roby and Austin Haseleu took the top three places in the 1,600 and 3,200 meter races. New Richmond also got a win from Bailey Wilson in the 800 meters. The distance runners also helped the Tigers to win the 1,600 and 3,200 relays.
